Today, Ian is coming to meet the family. Avery is very nervous. She is afraid thinking what if Dad rejects him.

" Relax, Ian will impress everyone. I am sure", I said, encouraging her.

We both got ready and went downstairs. Dad was sitting in the living room while Mom was helping in arranging dinner.

I don't know where Aaron is.

" Mom, Dad, Ian had messaged me. He will reach here within 5 minutes", Avery said.

" Where is Aaron?"Dad asked Mom.

" He is in his room", Mom replied.

" Isla,  can you please call him downstairs?"Dad asked me.

" Sure, Dad", I replied and went upstairs.

This is my second time entering his room. The first one was ten years ago when he had taken me home after saving me.

I knocked on his door but no one answered from inside.

I hesitated before opening the door and went inside. I looked around but no one was inside. His room is all black and grey like his personality. This room matches his dominant aura.

Aaron and Dad only nodded their head with expressionless face.

" Tell us something about you?"Dad asked him, arrogantly.

" My name is Ian Cooper. In my family, I had my parents and my elder sister who is married. My father had started this business in his early thirties. He had retired recently and now I'm the new C.E.O of the company. I had met Avery during our project. It was love at first sight for me. ", Ian said.

" What are your intentions about Avery and your relationship?", Aaron asked.

" I love her a lot. I want to marry her. I promise I will always protect her from every danger. I will never let tears come in her eyes. I will pamper her and bear her tantrums.", Ian said, passionately.

His eyes were filled with love and sincerity towards Avery.

" We want to meet your family so that we can discuss your marriage", Dad announced.

" Sure!!", Ian said, feeling happy and relieved.

" Thank you, Dad", Avery said, hugging Dad.

" You have chosen the best man for you. He will keep you happy.", Dad said, proudly.

" Congratulations. Brother-in-law ", I screamed, trying to lighten the mood.

" Thank you, Sister-in-law", Ian replied, side hugging me.

Ian was hugged by Mom, Dad and Aaron. He finally becomes our family.

" Mam, Dinner is ready.", One of the housekeepers said.

" Dinner time", Mom announced and we went towards the dining room.

We finished our dinner. Ian was ready to go home.

" Mom, Dad, Can I go with Aaron? I will be back soon.", Avery asked.

" Of course", Dad replied.

" Thank you", Avery said, hugging Dad before leaving with Ian.

" I need to leave", Aaron announced.

" But you were going to leave tomorrow", Mom asked.

" I need to attend an important meeting", Aaron announced.

" Fine!! I want you here when Ian's parents come to discuss marriage", Dad announced.

" I will be here", Aaron said.

" Great!! ", Dad replied.

" I need to go. See you on Monday, Isla", Aaron said.

He took his laptop from the room and went to his office.

After a minute, a man in his late forties entered his office.

" He is my manager. He will explain other things", Aaron said.

Patrick explained my work for the next hour and showed me my workspace.

" Aaron sir is a very strict boss. He didn't like people who do stupid mistakes. One mistake and you are fired!! So try to do everything perfectly. ", Patrick warned me about Aaron's anger before leaving me alone in my cabin

My cabin was on the third floor near Aaron's cabin.

This floor has only three people, Aaron, me, and his receptionist.

Chapter 7: Shopping

" Come to my cabin", a voice ordered, which belongs to Aaron.

I entered his cabin.

" I have my coffee three times a day", He said.

I raised my eyebrows not understanding why he is informing me??

" As my secretary, it's your duty", He said.

" Oh….", I said, understanding his meaning.

" I want my coffee within five minutes", He ordered me.

" Yes, sir", I said and hurriedly went outside.

I went to Autumn, the receptionist on the third floor. She showed me the coffee machine.

I thanked her and prepared his favourite coffee.

I knocked on his door before entering inside.

" Your coffee, Sir", I said.

He took the coffee from me. I expected him to say something but he ignored me, enjoying his coffee.

" You can leave now", he said without looking towards me.

" Rude", I mumbled before going outside.

I started working on the file. I hear a knock on the door.

" Come in", I said.

Autumn entered my cabin.

" Hello, you here?", I asked.

" It's lunchtime so would you like to come with me for lunch?", She asked, cutely. She is so cute.

" Of course. Wait a minute. Let me inform Boss", I replied.

I dialled Aaron's number.

We went to the cafeteria on the ground floor.We ordered our lunch while getting to know each other.

" Your last name is Miller so are you related to Boss", Autumn asked me.

" Don't worry I will not tell anyone", she promised.

" You both should get ready. Ian's family is about to reach", Mom said.

I nodded my head and went upstairs.

I got ready in a plain black dress. I left my room to go downstairs.

Ian's family arrived here after a few minutes. Dad and Aaron welcomed them.

Ian's parents are really sweet. I liked them a lot.

Ian's father and Dad know each other due to business.

During dinner, the elders talk about Ian and Avery's engagement.

Their engagement was fixed after twenty days.

After fifteen days,

Half a month has passed since I joined the firm.

Carter and Autumn left from there.

" Lunch break had finished five minutes ago, Mr Mark.", Aaron said to Mark, arrogantly.

" Yes sir", Mark said, hurriedly and left the cafeteria.

I was about to move towards my cabin when ….

" Where are you going?"He asked me, rudely.

" My cabin", I replied.

" Avery, Stella, Justin are waiting for us in the boutique. Avery and  You need a dress for Avery's engagement. We are going there. Meet me in the parking lot within five minutes", He said, clenching his jaw and leaving from there.

" Can't he talk more politely? I don't know what his problem is??", I mumbled, before grabbing my bag and going towards the parking lot.

We reached the boutique within twenty minutes.

" Finally you both are here", Justin said.

" Hey, Dad. Where are Mom and Avery?", I asked.

" They are in the trial room. Aaron, you come with me. We need to buy our suites as well", Dad said and took Aaron with him.

We took two hours to buy our dresses.

" Dad, where is Aaron??", I asked, not seeing Aaron.

" He went to the office a while ago,'' Dad said.

" Without me….I mean I need to go back to the office with him", I explained.

" He asked me to tell you that you are on half-day leave. So no need to go back to the office today and enjoy shopping with your mom and sister", Dad explained.

" Okay", I said. I don't know why he is behaving like this today. I have not done anything to make him angry.

" What happened??", Avery asked.

" He has been behaving rudely with me since we left the office", I told her everything.

" You know him and his mood swings. He will be fine tomorrow", Avery said.

I nodded my head knowing she was right.
