Chapter 2: Twelve years later

Hello, I'm Isla Miller. I lived in an Orphanage till I turned 10 years old.

Twelve years had passed since I was rescued by my saviour, Aaron Miller.  He protects me from those monsters and helps me put them behind the bars.

A new caretaker was appointed for the Orphanage. We sometimes go to Orphanage to meet children.

He took me to his house. He gave me a family. His brother and sister-in-law, Justin Miller and Stella Miller became my foster parents. Their daughter, Avery, who is two years older than me, became my sister and best friend.

I was an Orphan but now I have a family who loves me a lot. Justin Miller, my dad, is a businessman while Stella Miller, my mom is a housewife.

Aaron Miller is my saviour. He is 35 Years old. He is one of the best lawyers. He owned a law firm. His law firm is the best in the State. He had won many high profile cases. He is very rich, handsome, and hot. He is very possessive about his things. He had a dominant aura around him.

For the world, he is a rude, arrogant, cold heart who doesn't care about anything while he is very caring about his family. But no one can handle an angry Aaron Miller. He loses control over himself when he is angry so everyone is afraid of him including his family. No one goes near him when he is angry.

Many women are mad behind him since he is an eligible bachelor.

Mom, Dad never differentiate between Avery and me. I never feel uncomfortable in the house.

Avery is my secret keeper. I share everything with her. She has done her degree in business administration and is helping Dad in business while I am about to finish my degree in law.

Today is my last exam before graduation. So, I am getting ready for the exam. After Two weeks, I have my graduation ceremony.

I got ready in my crop top and jeans. I don't like to put on heavy makeup so I just use eyeliner, kajal and lip gloss. I put my admit Card and cellphone in my bag before going downstairs.

" Good morning, Mom, Dad", I said, greeting them.

They were sitting at the dining table having breakfast.

" Good morning, Dear", Mom replied.

" Good morning", Dad said.

" Where is Avery?", I asked, grabbing an apple from the table.

" She had an important meeting to attend so she has gone early," Mom replied.

" Ready to go??", Dad asked me.

" Yes", I replied.

" Come on!! I will drop you", Dad replied.

" Okay!!", I replied before grabbing my bag.

" All the best", Mom said, wishing me luck.

" Thank you", I replied, smiling.

I went out and sat in the car's back seat with dad.

Dad dropped me in front of the University and went to his company.

I was about to enter the University gate when my cell phone rings.

" Where are you?? We are waiting for you near the examination hall", Jenny said.

" Coming!!", I replied, before cutting the call.

I hurriedly moved towards the examination hall.

" Hey!!", I said, taking deep breaths.

There stood my friends Dylan and Jenny. I met them on the first day of our university. Since then they have become my friends.

" Finally, you are here", Dylan said, sarcastically.

" Sorry, guys", I said, making cute faces.

" Stop making these cute faces. You know we can't resist these cute faces so you always took advantage of this", Jenny said, feeling annoyed.

I giggled hearing her.

" Let's go!!", I said.

We entered the examination hall.

After three hours,

"Finally, Exams are finished", Jenny shouted, coming outside the examination hall.

" Slow down, Baby", Dylan said to Jenny. Both of them are high school sweethearts.

" We are going to become lawyers within a few days, Baby. Let me enjoy it a little bit", Jenny said, making annoying faces.

I smiled seeing their cute fights. They are one of the cutest couples I have seen.

" We should party tonight,'' Jenny said happily.

" Sure!!", I said, smiling.

" A new club named Blue Night is opening tonight. They are having a masquerade night for opening. We should go there. I can arrange the passes for us.", Dylan suggested.

" Great idea, Baby. I am really excited. What about Avery?? Is she free tonight??", Jenny replied.

They had met Avery through me. We four mostly hang out together.

"Let me call her", I said, before making a call.

" Hello", I heard from the other side.

" Hello!! Are you free tonight??", I asked Avery.

" Yes, I am. Why??", She asked me.

" Since today was our last exam, we were thinking about going to a new club named Blue Night.", I asked.

" I am always ready for a party. Are you going home?", Avery asked, happily.

" Yes", I replied.

" I am on my way. I will pick you from the University", Avery said.

"No need. Dad had already sent the driver. See you soon", I said, before disconnecting the call.

"She agreed,'' I announced to them.

" Great!! We will meet you at 7 P.M outside the club.", Dylan said.

" Okay!! See you soon", I said and left from there.

I reached home in half an hour. Mom, Dad and Avery were already present there.

" Hey guys", I said entering the room.

" Hello", They replied.

" Our daughter is finally going to become a lawyer", Mom said, praising me.

" All thanks to you all", I said, feeling emotional. Today I am standing here only because of them. Otherwise, I don't know what would have happened to me.

" It's all your hard work, dear", Mom said.

" What did you think about your internship?? Why don't you do your internship in Aaron's firm??", Dad asked me.

" I don't know", I mumbled, feeling nervous.

" I will ask him when he will come for your graduation ceremony", Dad announced.

" He is coming for my graduation ceremony", I asked, shockingly.

Aaron lives in his own house. He comes here to meet us sometimes when he is free. He has not been in the city since last month. He had gone to London to handle some cases.

" Yes, He can't miss your graduation ceremony", Dad said.

I gulped hearing him. Avery was smirking seeing my situation.

" I am going to my room", I said and left from there.

Let me tell you a secret. I have a crush on Aaron. Firstly I used to admire him but I don't know when this changed into liking. Avery knows about my liking towards Aaron so she always teases me about it. She doesn't think it's wrong because Aaron is not my biological uncle.

I want him like a woman wants a man but for him,  I am just a child whom he had rescued twelve years ago.

I know he is out of my reach but I can't stop thinking about him.

" Still lost in your prince charming's thoughts.", Avery asked, teasing me. I didn't notice when she entered my room.

" Don't tease me. What about your loverboy??", I asked her about her boyfriend Ian. They have been dating each other for six months. They had met during a business deal.

" He is busy in his office. He doesn't have any time for me.", Avery said, complaining.

" He loves you a lot. I am sure he must have important work otherwise he can't live without seeing you", I said to her.

" That's true", Avery said, blushing.

" We should start getting ready", I said.

" Yes!! What are you going to wear??", Avery said.

" This one", I said, showing her my dress.

" No!! This is so boring. I have a perfect, sexy dress for you. I have brought this for you. You will wear this only", Avery said, giving me a short dress.

" But this is so revealing. Also, it has a deep neck", I argued.

"You are wearing this, no arguments", Avery said, showing me her eyes, challenging me to say No.

" Fine", I said and went to change my dress.

" I am telling you it's too revealing. Let me Change", I said, trying to change her mind.

" It's perfect. Stop doing drama. We are getting late. Let's go", Avery said, making me sigh.

Within an hour, we reached outside the club. Jenny and Dylan were waiting for us outside the club.

We were about to enter the club when Avery got a call from Ian.

" Sorry!!  I can't join you guys. I need to go now, ''Avery said.

" What happened?", I asked.

" Ian wants to meet me.", Avery said, blushing.

" Going for a date", I said, teasing her.

"How will you go home??", Avery asked me, worriedly.

" Don't worry. We will drop her. You go, enjoy your date", Jenny said, winking.

"Bye", Avery said and went from there.

We showed our passes before entering the club. They give us masks for the masquerade night.

" Ready for the fun", Dylan asked us.

" Yes", We shouted before entering the club.

I am really excited about tonight. I am having a feeling that something good is going to happen tonight.
